Bleached Waxing Base Paper meets the food safety standards of Chinese, the United States and European, is 100% raw wood pulp, which is moisture-proof, water-resistant and oil-resistant.
Biscuits, hamburgers, chicken and other anti-tide food packaging
History traces waxed paper, also known as paraffin paper, back to the Middle Ages. To make it moisture-resistant, a layer of wax, usually paraffin, is applied directly on the paper’s surface. This treatment allows the paper to be flexible and easy to use while providing barrier properties.
In both domestic and commercial kitchens, waxed paper is mostly used in the food stuffing and baking industries. Its application is successful because of its non-stick properties, which make it easier to wrap food, break adhesion, and release. Also, moisture and grease resistance help maintain freshness even during handling and storage.
Apart from food use, specialty paraffin waxed papers are used in industrial applications as slip sheets where grease and moisture resistance is needed. Their versatility and reliable performance for a wide array of uses make them a preferred choice.
Waxed Paper | Parchment Paper | |
Composition | Paper coated with a thin layer of wax (usually paraffin or vegetable-based) | Paper treated with silicone to create a non-stick, heat-resistant surface |
Moisture Resistance | Excellent, the wax coating provides a good barrier against moisture and grease | Moderate – naturally moisture-resistant, but not as impermeable as waxed paper |
Heat Resistance | Low, not suitable for use in ovens; wax melts or can ignite | High – safe for oven use, typically up to 220–260°C (428–500°F) |
Non-stick Properties | Very good, due to wax coating | Excellent, especially for baking applications |
Recyclability | Not easily recyclable due to wax coating | Often compostable and more eco-friendly, depending on formulation |
Typical Uses | - Wrapping cold foods - Lining surfaces for rolling dough - Separating sticky items like candy or cheese - Slip sheets for industrial parts |
- Baking sheet liner - Roasting and steaming - Non-stick surface for cookies, pastries, and roasting vegetables |
Not Recommended For | Oven or high-heat applications | Direct contact with open flames or high broiler heat |
Surface Feel | Slightly waxy, smooth to the touch | Dry, slightly textured, almost velvety surface |
