High porosity plug wrap paper is a specialized water-soluble industrial paper used in oil and gas well fracturing operations. Its primary function is to temporarily wrap and secure the internal moving parts of a frac plug or bridge plug during deployment, preventing premature setting. Thanks to its high porosity, the paper rapidly absorbs wellbore fluids (such as water-based or brine solutions) and completely dissolves within hours (typically 4 to 48 hours). This automatic dissolution ensures that after fracturing is completed, the plug components are freed or dissolved, ultimately leaving a full-bore path for hydrocarbon production.
